In loving memory of Val D., she was a light and an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
— I’d been the webmaster for the district for a while, when a small group of us were sitting around the table one night before a meeting chatting. A member asked when a certain meeting was founded.  Nobody was sure, and someone suggested it would be nice if meeting founding dates were listed on the district website.  Val was sitting across from me when she exclaimed “I know someone who can do that!”.  To which I asked credulously “Who?”.  “You!” she said.  We all laughed.  It was only a short time later that we lost Val, and I’ve had it in the back of my mind to make that page and dedicate it in her memory.  I think it’s important to remember where we started, and I know Val would agree.
